A big step was taken for Iran's self-sufficiency with the domestic production of phosphate fertilizers; Iran will find the ability to export phosphate fertilizer

By launching domestic phosphate fertilizer production projects in the country, in addition to eliminating the need to supply from foreign sources, Iran will become an exporter of this strategic commodity.

The Public Relations of the Agricultural Support Services Company reports on this ceremony, Hamid Rasouli, the CEO of the Agricultural Support Services Company and the Manager of the Agricultural Fertilizers Self-sufficiency Plan, in this opening ceremony, referring to the importance of the domestic supply of fertilizers needed by the country, assured that all the fertilizers produced in The Iranian Petrosarakhs chemical fertilizer production complex will be purchased for distribution inside the country.

The Iranian Petrosarakhs chemical fertilizer production complex has been set up on a seven-hectare land in the chemical industry zone of Sarakhs city (Razavi Khorasan province), with an initial capital of 20 million euros and a value of 7,500 billion rials. In the first phase, this complex will produce 500,000 tons of phosphate fertilizers (triple superphosphate, dicalcium phosphate, and diammonium phosphate) and 500,000 tons of phosphoric acid, creating employment for more than 250 people, which is an important step for Iran's self-sufficiency in phosphate fertilizer production. is

Hamid Rasouli announced in this opening ceremony: The annual need for nitrogen, phosphate and potash chemical fertilizers (according to the technical report of the country's Soil and Water Research Institute) is around 4.5 million tons. Fortunately, with the annual production of 8 million tons of urea fertilizer, Iran is self-sufficient in the domestic supply of nitrogen fertilizers (urea and ammonium sulfate), which has the largest share in the country's annual fertilizer supply and distribution program (nearly 70%), and is currently one of the largest and the most important exporters of this strategic agricultural input in the world.

Hamid Rasouli, the manager of the self-sufficiency plan for agricultural fertilizers, further explained the situation of supply of agricultural fertilizers in Iran and said: until recent years, the supply of phosphate and potash fertilizers was done entirely from foreign sources. For this reason, in order to achieve the goals defined in the country's self-sufficiency plan in agricultural fertilizers, 30 projects have been defined for the production of all kinds of phosphate, potash and other organic, biological, combined fertilizers, etc., and the development of the exploitation of phosphate and potash soil mines. And it was approved. The nominal production capacity of the 30 mentioned projects is more than 3 million tons of agricultural fertilizers, of which about 2 million tons are devoted to phosphate and potash fertilizers. Currently, out of the 30 projects mentioned, more than 20 projects have been put into operation, the most important of which are: The Iranian Petrosarakhs chemical fertilizer production complex producing phosphate fertilizers, Khor and Biabank complex producing potassium chloride fertilizer, Urmia Petrochemical producing potassium sulfate fertilizer, phosphate complex Karun, producer of phosphate fertilizers, and Kimidaran Kavir Yazd company, producer of triple superphosphate fertilizer. In addition to the start of production of the mentioned projects, the launch and development of exploitation of Cheram phosphate mines is also very important with to meet the demand of phosphate fertilizer producers for phosphate soil.

Hamid Rasouli, the CEO of the Agricultural Support Services Company and the Manager of the Agricultural Fertilizers Self-sufficiency Plan, by stateing the benefits and the undeniable importance of the optimal use of nitrogen, phosphate and potash agricultural fertilizers for the production of more and quality agricultural products, said: Currently, the implementation stages of setting up several big project of producing phosphate, potash and nitrogen agricultural fertilizers is being done all over the country. By lunching the operation of the mentioned projects, in addition to meeting the domestic demand for agricultural fertilizers, Iran will enter as a reliable global supplier of phosphate and potash fertilizers in the global fertilizers market.
